Presto 3.5 Community Edition FAQ

How do you create an account on Presto cloud?

Click on the ‘Register for Presto Cloud’ button on the Mashup Developer Community homepage. On the login screen click the ‘Sign Up’ link. Create your username and password then enter your email address to create your account.

How can you begin to use Presto Cloud to create Mashups, Apps and Dashboards?

We have a series of Presto Quick Start Videos. We encourage all our community members to watch the quick start videos and also read the product documentation as necessary.

Who can see your Mashups, Apps and Dashboards on Presto Cloud?

Each user only has access to the mashables, mashups, apps and workspace apps (dashboards) that they create. All Presto artifacts are marked with the security permission ‘Presto_Guest’ allowing the user to control the Presto artifacts other cloud users can see and use.

How can you collaborate with others on Presto Cloud?

Each user has the opportunity to collaborate with other cloud users by rating, tagging, commenting and featuring all Presto artifacts on the cloud. Users can filter Presto artifacts by type, category and provider to identify mashables, mashups, apps and workspaces that might be more relevant to your specific interest areas.

What are the new features available through the upgrade of Presto 3.5?

You can read about all the new Presto release features in the Presto Real-Time Intelligence Platform Version 3.5 Release Notes.

Is your Presto Cloud account connected to your MDC account?

Each Presto Cloud account is separate from your Mashup Developer Community user account. You can create your community account from the MDC homepage and the Presto cloud account after you click on the ‘Register for Presto Cloud’ button on the MDC homepage. When you publish your Presto artifacts from the cloud, they will not be connected to the MDC in anyway.

What does MDC offer in addition to Presto Cloud?

The Mashup Developer Community offers a wide variety of helpful educational tools like blogs, how-tos, tutorials, past Presto archives and license FAQs. The MDC also offers online forum support managed by knowledgeable Presto engineers.
